Andrew Shamis


Andrew Shamis is the managing partner at Shamis & Gentile P.A. Mr. Shamis heads the class action and mass torts division of the firm, where his extensive experience in civil litigation has gained him the reputation of an attorney who can deliver where it matters the most, monetary results for his clients.  Mr. Shamis has recovered over 100 million dollars for consumers and plaintiffs throughout the country through his relentlessness, expertise, and calculated approach.  Mr. Shamis is routinely certified class counsel and has successfully litigated over 10,000 civil cases in his young career.

Mr. Shamis is admitted to practice law in both the state of Florida and New York, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, Northern District of Illinois, Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, Northern District of Ohio, Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, Western and Northern Districts of Oklahoma, Northern and Southern District of Texas, US District Court of Colorado, and the US District Court of Nebraska,

Mr. Shamis specializes in Consumer Protection Class Action Litigation, Mass Torts,  Personal Injury, Personal Injury Protection, Wrongful Death, as well as General Civil Litigation.

Mr. Shamis grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and later moved to Alpharetta, Georgia. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia. Mr. Shamis then received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami, School of Law. Mr. Shamis is proud to call Miami his home and looks forward to representing consumers and injured parties throughout the United States for the rest of his legal career.

Angelica Gentile

Angelica Gentile is a named partner at Shamis & Gentile P.A. Ms. Gentile heads the catastrophic injury, personal injury, and personal injury protection departments of Shamis & Gentile, P.A. Ms. Gentile is recognized throughout the legal community as an extremely professional and efficient attorney. A consistent favorite, clients routinely rave about how well Ms. Gentile works to protect their interests and advocate on their behalf. Ms. Gentile is admitted to practice law in both Florida and Texas and has extensive civil litigation experience, involving hundreds of depositions and motions throughout the state of Florida. Ms. Gentile not only prides herself in collecting millions of dollars in benefits owed to clients, but also in forging long lasting, successful relationships with clients.

Ms. Gentile is admitted to practice law in both the state of Florida and Texas, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, and the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas.

Ms. Gentile is a former Division I athlete, where she swam for the University of North Texas all four years. She received her Bachelor of Science from University of North Texas, after which she received her Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Miami School of Law.

Rob Jurewicz


Robert E. Jurewicz, Vice President of Operations, has a lengthy resume in being a service industry entrepreneur. A seasoned professional and marketing expert, Rob prides himself in his ability to develop and grow companies with a vision for understanding the market and applying extensive marketing techniques. Under his leadership, a number of businesses have become some of the most successful and respected in their respective industries, known for high levels of service, professionalism, and innovation. Shamis & Gentile, P.A. is the culmination of that experience, where Mr. Jurewicz has put it all together in creating a state of the art, forward thinking and marketing driven law firm that exceeds all expectations.

As Vice President of Operations at Shamis & Gentile P.A., Mr. Jurewicz is responsible for leading the marketing team, by creating innovative ways to promote, expand, and improve customer service. Mr. Jurewicz also runs the Search Engine Optimization team creating optimal website engagement and performance.  Shamis & Gentile, P.A. is considered one of the preeminent law firms at client acquisition and retention. Mr. Jurewicz is also responsible for business development and running administrative day-to-day operation, as well as being the de facto “Chief Financial Officer.”

Mr. Jurewicz grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan and later moved to Miami, Florida. Mr. Jurewicz received a specialized business degree in marketing from the nationally recognized Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Mr. Jurewicz possess the leadership skills, technical prowess, and desire to succeed which coincide exactly with all characteristics that add value to Shamis & Gentile P.A.

Joshua Moyer

PARTNERJoshua Moyer, Esq.

Joshua Moyer is a Partner at Shamis & Gentile, leading the firm’s San Diego Office with a focus on consumer protection, corporate fraud, and class action litigation. Mr. Moyer brings with him to the firm over 12 years of litigation experience, including 8 years focusing exclusively on protecting the interests of consumers and shareholders through the prosecution of class action and securities/corporate fraud cases.

Mr. Moyer is admitted to the State Bar of California and is licensed to practice in all California state and federal courts. Joshua received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ursinus College, where he earned both All-American and Academic All-American honors as a student-athlete. In 2008 he received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law. Prior to joining Shamis & Gentile, he also assisted low-income clients at the USD Legal Clinic, clerked for the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, and practiced in the areas of real estate litigation, medical malpractice, and wealth management.

Cases in which Mr. Moyer has contributed to the recovery of funds for shareholders and/or consumers include:

  • In Re Forex Antitrust, Case No. 13-cv-7789 (alleging the illegal manipulation of dozens of foreign exchange rates over 10+ years – over $1.1B in settlements recovered to date);
  • In re National Prescription Opiate Litigation., No. 17-md-02804 (N.D. Ohio) (alleging the use of Big Tobacco-style marketing of prescription opioids, leading to widespread addiction and avoidable deaths);
  • Schuh v. HCA Holdings, Inc., 3:11-cv-01033 (M.D. Tenn.) (§§11, 12(a)(2) & 15 of the Securities Act of 1933 claims, $215M recovery);
  • Hsingching Hsu v. Puma Biotechnology, Inc., No. SACV15-0865 (C.D. Cal.)($100M recovery);
  • In re Bridgepoint Educ., Inc. Sec. Litigation., No. 3:12-CV-1737 JM (WMC), 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 131423 (S.D. Cal. Sept. 13, 2013) (§§10(b) and 20(a) and Rule 10b-5 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, $15.5M recovery);
  • Willis v. Big Lots, Inc., et al., Case No. 2:12-cv-604, Opinion and Order (S.D. Ohio Mar. 17, 2017) ($38M recovery);
  • In re ViroPharma Incorporated Securities Litigation, Civil Action No. 2:12-02714 (E.D. Penn) ($8M recovery).

Mr. Moyer has also contributed to the prosecution of two ongoing antitrust cases involving the manipulation of the price of commodities on a global scale: In re Liquid Aluminum Sulfate Antitrust Litigation., No. 2:16-md-02687 (S.D.N.Y.) and In Re Aluminum Antitrust, 13-md-2481 (KBF).

In his free time Joshua enjoys practicing martial arts and yoga, surfing, writing, and spending time with his family and his dog.

Marian Grigorian

Mariam Grigorian is an associate attorney at Shamis & Gentile, P.A. Her practice areas include Personal Injury, Personal Injury Protection, Premises Liability, and Class Action Litigation. During most of law school Ms. Grigorian clerked at Shamis & Gentile, earning a full time attorney position after her excellent work product for both named partners. Ms. Grigorian is known for her excellent drafting skills and litigation strategy. Ms. Grigorian has assisted in litigating hundreds of cases and recovering millions of dollars owed to clients.

Ms. Grigorian graduated cum laude from the University of Florida where she received dual degrees in Political Science and Criminology, with a minor in Business Administration. Ms. Grigorian then earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, Ms. Grigorian gave several CLE presentations to practicing lawyers as a member of the Professional Responsibility and Ethics Program (PREP), was on the Dean’s List, and received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship.

Garrett Berg

Garrett Berg is an Associate attorney at Shamis & Gentile, P.A. Garrett’s practice involves all aspects of federal and state trial litigation with a focus on Federal Class Action Litigation. He also works closely with the Personal Injury and Personal Injury Protection departments of Shamis & Gentile, P.A. Garrett has been responsible for assisting in recovering millions of dollars owed to clients from Class Action Litigation regarding Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) violations.

Garrett is personable, attentive, and easy to talk to. If you have concerns about your case, he will always take the time to speak to you and give you an honest assessment of where things stand. A lawyer who speaks to clients in plain, straightforward language! Garrett combines this with exceptional negotiation skills and an unyielding devotion to obtaining the best possible results for his clients.

Prior to joining Shamis & Gentile, P.A., Garrett was an associate in a law firm where he worked extensively in matters involving general commercial litigation, partnership disputes, and construction litigation. Garrett has successfully litigated against some of the largest construction contractors in North America.

A native of the Miami area, Garrett earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Florida State University. He is admitted and cleared to practice law in the state of Florida.

Edwin Elliot

Edwin Elliott will be a first-year associate at Shamis & Gentile, P.A. Edwin focuses his practice on consumer class actions, insurance litigation, personal injury, and personal injury protection. Edwin has experience litigating claims before state and federal courts involving consumer fraud, deceptive and unfair trade practices, and complex commercial disputes. With experience at all stages of the litigation process, Edwin works closely with clients to ensure they are informed throughout. Edwin’s meticulous attention to detail and results driven tenacity ensure that clients will receive individualized care in crafting creative legal solutions to meet their specific needs.

A life-long Florida native, Edwin earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from the Florida State University and went on to receive a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, Edwin competed for the International Moot Court Board, advocated for indigent clients with the Immigration Clinic, protected online digital liberties as a legal fellow for the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative (CCRI), and delved into emerging #LegalTech issues as Research Assistant for Professor Mary Anne Franks. Due to his exemplary academics, Edwin was awarded the Class Action & Complex Litigation Endowed Fellowship, a merit scholarship honor. Edwin is fluent in Spanish.
